Inspector Jason Chickowski has been appointed as the new Deputy Chief of Police for the Chatham-Kent Police Service, effective Dec. 1, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Services Board announced.
The appointment follows a rigorous internal selection process initiated earlier this fall. Candidates delivered presentations on the organization’s strategic priorities, followed by formal interviews. The hiring committee unanimously selected Chickowski for the role.
With a distinguished 24-year career entirely within the Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chickowski brings extensive experience, dedication, and leadership to the position. He has worked across all areas of the organization and has played a pivotal role in numerous initiatives and projects, showcasing his commitment to public safety and the community.
As Deputy Chief, Chickowski will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service’s four branches. He will continue collaborating with force members and community partners to advance the organization’s mission of making Chatham-Kent a healthier and safer community.
The board said Jason has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our members and a deep understanding of our community. Details regarding the swearing-in ceremony for Deputy Chief Chickowski will be announced at a later date.
