After an extensive selection process facilitated by Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions, a local executive recruitment firm, the Council of the Municipality of Lakeshore has announced the appointment of Tyson Cragg as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective January 14, 2025.
Tyson Cragg, currently the Executive Director of Transit Windsor, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for public service. Since 2020, he has overseen Windsor and Essex County’s regional public transportation system, achieving increased ridership, enhanced service delivery, and spearheading major capital investments. Prior to his tenure at Transit Windsor, Cragg held leadership roles in the public and private sectors, including as Manager of Operations at the City of London’s Transit Commission. He has also served on the Canadian Urban Transit Association and Ontario Public Transit Association boards.
Cragg holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Windsor and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
“I am honoured to serve the residents of Lakeshore in my new role as Chief Administrative Officer. Lakeshore is a dynamic municipality with a bright future, and I am delighted to be working alongside Council and the talented members of Team Lakeshore to continue to enrich the lives of residents and build communities that we can be proud of,” said Cragg.
Mayor Tracey Bailey expressed confidence in Cragg’s leadership, stating, “We are confident that Tyson will play a pivotal role in moving Lakeshore forward. We have seen a significant amount of change during this term of Council as well as the adoption of two master plans that are critical to the future of Lakeshore. Tyson’s vision and leadership align perfectly with our strategic goals and the work that lies ahead. We look forward to the impact he will have on our team and our communities.”
“I would also like to extend a sincere thank you, from Council and our residents, for the work of our Interim CAO, Justin Rousseau. Justin provided steady leadership to our team throughout this period, and we look forward to his continued contributions to our organization as Chief Financial Officer,” Mayor Bailey added.
